Halfway Road and Namew Mine Road East Decommissioning

Canadian Kraft Paper Industries Ltd. intends to establish long term road decommissioning measures on the Halfway Road and Namew Mine Road East. Halfway Road is located about 50 km NW of The Pas, the closure will originate at Km 10. Namew Mine Road East is located about 8 km SE of the community of Sturgeon Landing with closure originating at km 1.5. Decommissioning works are scheduled to be finished by May 27, 2026.

Members of the public having equipment behind the scheduled road closure may want to remove the equipment prior to this date.  The Road Decommissioning Plan and map will be posted on CKP’s forestry services provider Nisokapawino Forestry Management Corporation website: link
