Tiger Cat Simulator Purchased in 2025

NFMC has recently received a new Tigercat equipment simulator to support training and skill development for forest equipment operators. The simulator was funded through the Communities Economic Development Fund and the Northern Manitoba Sector Council, with additional support from Tigercat (TCi), which donated three of the operating modules.

The simulator includes training modules for a Feller Buncher, Tracked Processor, Wheeled Forwarder, and Wheeled Harvester. These modules allow operators to practice machine controls, operating techniques, and decision making in a realistic virtual environment that closely reflects field conditions.

By using the simulator, forestry contractors can train employees before they enter active operations, improving safety, confidence, and readiness while reducing risk and equipment wear. This investment supports workforce development by helping operators build experience and skills prior to working in the bush, strengthening both training outcomes and on the ground safety.
